"Every one thinks they have the best dog. And none of them are wrong"
W.R. Purche
Meet Milly Brown
She Charms everyone she meets.
Milly is now 15 years old and has earned her Matriarch stripes.
She is hard of hearing and her eyesight isn't great, and the vet says she has a touch of doggie-dementia.
But in her great old age she still loves going for our daily walk, which is now mainly guided by nose, and she is still every bit the damn-fine cuddler she has always been.
Milly is very easy to have around, these days she mainly just sleeps
Milly has raised many thousands of dollars for charity
In Vancouver for SPCA and BC Children's Hospital
(the theme was 'Superheros' and this is Milly in her Wonderdog cape)
and in Seattle for the Mariner's 'Refuse to Abuse' campaign.
(the team gave her very own Mariners shirt!)
Milly & I Are a Team
The first time I held Milly she was just one week old.
She came to live with us at 8 weeks, and has brought constant delight to our family life.
When I decided to take my sabbatical, there was absolutely no question that she would be coming with me. Together we are having a Grand Adventure.
Being loaded into the crate for the transatlantic London-to-Vancouver flight, 2017
Milly is Therapy
As all who know her will attest, this dog has a very calming and healing presence.
Having a cuddle with Milly is good for the soul.
Guaranteed Joy
Milly brightens the lives of all who engage with her, and she most certainly will make you laugh...
